Description:

The path, short and easy to travel, connects the village of Bolognano with that of Musellaro, entering first among patches of mixed forest and then crossing olive groves, vineyards and cultivated fields near Musellaro. Once in the center of Bolognano, to reach the entrance of the path you have to follow Via Neviera, at the end of which, near a parking lot for the disabled, you leave the car and take the path on the left of a large white building. The path is a fairly obvious mule track that runs along first the aqueduct and then the ruins of ancient stone houses. The path gradually climbs, and then descends near a resurgence of water and climbs again among patches of forest inside which you can hear in spring, the calls of tortoises and wild pigeons that have found refuge here. You then reach the foot of Colle Bianco, which stands on the left, with sweet and upholstered sides of cultivated fields, passing through a grassy track bordered by dense brooms, whose scent envelops the hiker in May. The whole area is particularly frequented by ungulates, of which it is easy to find traces on the ground. Moving more and more in the direction of Musellaro, the path enters a cartway, among rows of trees typical of the mixed forest such as oaks, hornbeams, sorbs, some hawthorn and wild apple tree, beyond which you can see olive groves and vineyards, not by chance the area of the municipality of Bolognano is famous for the excellent production of wine. From here in short you reach a paved road that leads up to the first houses of Musellaro to end right on the road, at a small chapel with inside a Crucifix and a stone plaque that indicates the "Strada del Parco".

The maintenance of this path is carried out by the "ViviOrta" Cooperative of Bolognano

The vector tracks in "kml" format of the available hiking routes derive from the export of the tracks detected in the field by the park technicians with GPS instrumentation subsequently rectified using GIS software on an I.G.M.I. scale 1:25.000 geo-referenced in the UTM33N-WGS84 reference system (epsg:32633). For this reason, when viewing such vector traces on different cartographic bases (e.g. Google Earth satellite images, preloaded maps on GPS, etc.) a not perfect match with the topographic elements visible on the ground and the downloaded vector trace could be detected. Please pay the utmost attention to any cartographic overlap errors as well as to verify the correct functionality of the geo-location functions of your GPS devices.
